Braman’s close friend William Jones has created a GoFundMe to help with his ongoing treatment and medical expenses. According to Jones, Braman recently completed a CAR-T cell reprogramming procedure in Seattle. That treatment was chosen for its potential to target and fight his rare cancer using his own genetically modified immune cells.
Jones shared that at first, the cancerous mass began shrinking, giving hope to everyone around Braman. His reprogrammed cells were successfully reinfused and began reproducing in his bone marrow. Unfortunately, the cancer started fighting back, prompting doctors to begin a new chemotherapy plan tailored to his specific treatment pathway.
Chemotherapy is now Braman’s next line of defense, though options are limited. His immune system has weakened significantly, restricting which treatments can be administered. Jones explained, “They have tried all of the various treatment options, and unfortunately, none of them are working against this cancer.”
Despite setbacks, Braman refuses to give up. He is now exploring clinical trial programs and other cutting-edge therapies. Jones emphasized Braman’s fighting spirit, stating clearly that “Bryan has not given up. He is looking into other trial treatment programs, and is determined to never give up.”
The GoFundMe campaign was launched to provide support for expenses not covered by insurance. Donations will help with dietary necessities crucial for his treatment regimen, as well as uncovered medical costs. Braman’s loved ones are calling for community support and prayers as they push through this critical phase.
Braman has received incredible support from fans and former teammates. As of press time, the GoFundMe had raised over $83,000. Among the contributions was a $10,000 donation from former Houston Texans teammate J.J. Watt, reflecting the high regard Braman holds within the football community.
