Nick Viall is giving you a reason to tune in to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives reunion, even if fan-favorite Demi Engemann won’t be showing up in person. He made it clear that even though Demi won’t physically attend, her presence will still be felt during the special.

During the June 12 episode of his podcast, Nick, now 44, opened up about Demi’s choice to sit out the reunion. “I do know people in production have mixed feelings about this,” he explained. “Demi is, in a way, very much a part of the reunion. You will have the opportunity to hear from Demi herself — in a way.” If you’re curious about how that will happen, Viall didn’t spill the full details. Demi Says Disney Trip Clashed With Reunion Schedule
Demi, 30, previously addressed her absence on Instagram Stories during a Q&A on June 8. She explained that the reunion date clashed with a long-planned family vacation to Disneyland. “I was [invited]. It was short notice and the only day they could get the location secured was the day that me and my entire family did Disneyland,” she told her followers. “We had already booked all of our flights, and the Airbnb was nonrefundable or / would’ve moved the trip to be there. I tried to have production move it to another day and they couldn’t swing it sadly.” Her explanation was direct, but that didn’t stop fans — and possibly castmates — from questioning the timing.
Nick Reveals Disney Trip Was Offered To Entire Cast
On his podcast, Nick added a twist to the story. He explained that the reunion was scheduled after all cast members were offered a Disney trip by the show. Since The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives airs on Hulu, which is owned by Disney, this surprise perk wasn’t out of the ordinary. “They had the opportunity to pick whatever date they wanted,” Nick claimed. “All of these women were given the opportunity to go and have a ‘Disney experience’ with their family. All of them, and they could just go whenever they wanted [and the reunion] happened to be the date that Demi picked.” His comments added a layer of complexity, leaving you to decide who you believe.
Rumors, Alleged Affairs, And On-Camera Tension Still Loom
Demi’s absence might also be linked to her ongoing drama with several cast members. Tensions soared over alleged contract disputes and fallout with former best friend Jessi, 33. There were also rumors surrounding Demi’s connection to Vanderpump Villa star Marciano Brunette. Although Nick didn’t confirm a direct link between the feud and Demi’s absence, he acknowledged the suspicions. “[I’m] obviously taking her word for it,” he said. “I think many of her cast feel that it was not as random as Demi suggests, but I guess that’s more [conjecture]. … I don’t think anyone in the cast feels like Demi was upset about not being there, but there’s no proof to suggest that the story was untrue.”
Demi’s Name Will Still Be Front And Center
Even though she won’t appear in person, Nick made it clear that Demi’s role in the show isn’t being brushed aside. “You will want to watch. I promise you that Demi is very much addressed,” he teased. That promise suggests there could be footage, statements, or discussions centered around her choices and actions during season 2. So if you’re invested in her storyline, you won’t be left hanging when the reunion airs.
