During a recent press conference on Sunday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke in defense of the recent apprehension of ex-Venezuelan President, Nicolas Maduro, by US authorities. Rubio has been an outspoken critic of Maduro's administration, often regarding its policies as, allegedly, repressive and damaging to the Venezuelan people.

He expressed how critical this arrest was for the restoration of peace and order in Venezuela. Rubio defended the US intervention, contending it is merely an act of gaining justice for the Venezuelan people who had purportedly suffered hardship under Maduro's regime.

During his speech, he also confronted questions regarding the legality of the operation. According to him, Maduro's capture was completely aboveboard, lawful, and entirely in tune with the international norms. The former president was reportedly accused of leading a narco-terrorist group, charges which formed the kernel of the cause for his apprehension.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio urged for public understanding of the significance of this arrest. This action, he says, is a vital step in combating atrocities that bleed nations dry. He argues that this isn't just about Venezuela, but speaks to a broader global commitment to justice and peace.
